Interim Senior Buyer (CAPEX)
Interim Search has been tasked with recruiting an interim Senior Buyer (CAPEX) for a large international company.
The Senior Buyer (CAPEX) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for capital equipment and investment-related goods and services.
Key responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end sourcing for CAPEX projects (equipment, machinery, production lines, infrastructure, and technology investments).

Develop and maintain CAPEX category strategies aligned with business needs, lifecycle costs, and long-term asset planning.

Serve as the procurement lead in cross-functional CAPEX project teams (Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Finance, Sustainability).

Manage RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs with clear specifications, evaluation criteria, and risk assessments.

Negotiate contractual and commercial terms and conditions, as well as service agreements.

Drive contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with legal, technical, and ESG requirements.

Secure long-term value through TCO-based decision-making and risk-adjusted cost models.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with key CAPEX suppliers.

Evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, safety, sustainability, and innovation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting for CAPEX projects.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply, installation, commissioning, and long-term asset reliability.
To be relevant for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or equivalent.
- 5–7 years of experience in procurement, ideally with CAPEX or technical sourcing.
- A strong understanding of industrial equipment, production technology, or construction projects.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional project environments.
- Technical understanding of equipment, machinery, and industrial systems.
- An analytical mindset with strong financial and TCO modeling skills.
- Project leadership and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution.
About the process:
The position is full-time, starting in September, and is expected to last 9–12 months.
We will present candidates on August 26, and client interviews will be held at that time.
