Interim Engineering Manager
Interim Search has been retained to appoint an Engineering Manager for a leading international food company. As Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the plant's technical strategy, maintenance, and investment projects (CAPEX), across the plant.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive and execute the plant’s technical roadmap, ensuring long-term operational continuity, equipment availability, and continuous improvement.

Lead and oversee the site’s investment projects and capacity expansion initiatives from business case validation to budget control, commissioning, and final handover.

Manage annual maintenance plans, oversee planned shutdowns, and optimize asset management strategy to minimize downtime.

Direct critical failure investigations and eliminate recurring operational issues using continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM, RCA, 5 Why, FMEA).

Select, negotiate, and coordinate external technical suppliers and contractors, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications, safety, and quality standards.

Identify and implement efficiency measures to reduce utility usage, energy consumption, and overall technical operational costs.

Lead, coach, and develop the internal technical and maintenance teams, establishing clear performance objectives, operational discipline, and technical priorities.
Requirements:

Proven track record in a technical leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment, with strong experience leading technical teams and external contractors.

Solid experience managing investment projects and capacity expansion initiatives (CAPEX), including business case preparation, budget tracking, contractor management, and commissioning.

Deep knowledge of preventive and planned maintenance strategies, asset management, and planning major technical shutdowns.

Hands-on expertise in root cause failure analysis using standard methodologies.

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Industrial, or equivalent technical discipline).

Professional fluency in English; proficiency in Romanian is a strong plus.
