Interim Accounting Manager & Securities Accountant
Interim Search has been entrusted with an exciting and unique consulting assignment for a well-established and customer-owned company in the occupational pension and insurance industry in Stockholm. The company is characterized by long-term stability, high quality and a personal corporate culture where security for the customer is in focus.
This is a broad, operational and niche key role for someone who thrives at the intersection of qualified legal accounting and asset management financial flows. The assignment is a shared hybrid role where you will split your time roughly equally between two main areas.
Main duties:
Accounting & Financial Statements (50%):
- Managing, quality assuring and implementing monthly, quarterly and annual accounts and assisting with annual reporting.
- Ensure proper accounting and reporting in accordance with applicable legislation and specific regulations for occupational pension activities.
- Work hands-on and independently run accounting processes from start to finish.
Securities, Middle & Back Office (50%):
- Responsible for the legal accounting and valuation of financial instruments (e.g. debt securities, shares and funds) and the accounting of dividends and interest.
- Ongoing reconciliation of custody accounts, portfolios and liquid assets with external managers and custodian banks to ensure accurate transaction flows.
- Provide structure, increased control and proactively develop and streamline existing financial procedures at the interface between finance and asset management.
To be eligible for the role:
- Solid and long-standing experience as an accounting manager or senior accountant with strong functional accounting skills.
- Proven experience in accounting for financial instruments and working on reconciliations in Middle and/or Back Office.
- Experience in the financial sector, specifically in occupational pension insurance, life insurance or unit-linked insurance, and a good understanding of the industry's regulatory framework are required.
- Very good system skills and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- You are structured, accurate and deeply operational. You are used to working independently and taking full, personal responsibility for financial delivery.
About the process:
The assignment is full-time and is expected to last for 6 months. The position will be filled after the holidays (starting in August), but interviews and presentation of candidates will be ongoing during the month of June.
