Interim Financial Controller

You are a member of the management team in Sweden and you report to the Director of Finance and Digital.

Main tasks:

1. Financial Control & Swedish Compliance

• Ensure accurate and complete financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and reconciliations of payroll, pensions, employee benefits and employer-related costs
• Oversee VAT, corporate tax, employer reporting and other Swedish statutory finance obligations.
• Support accounting and controls for intercompany transactions, fixed assets, inventory and working capital.
• Support preparation of Swedish statutory accounts and annual reporting and ensure effective reconciliation between Swedish statutory accounts and Group reporting requirements.
• Maintain appropriate financial documentation and audit trails and continuously improve financial processes and controls.
• Act as a key finance contact for auditors, tax advisers, payroll providers and other Swedish finance partners.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis 

• Lead and support annual budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
• Analyse actual performance against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing clear explanations of key variances.
• Develop financial forecasts for revenue, margin, operating costs, working capital and cash flow and ensure that financial risks are appropriately reflected in forecasts.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide insightful financial analysis and support business performance and management decision-making.
• Prepare management reporting, KPIs and performance analysis for local and Group management.
• Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, reporting quality and FP&A processes to improve planning, analysis and decision support.

To be relevant for the role:

• You have previous experience in Business Control, Financial Control and general accounting
• You are business minded and have experience from working close to operational and commercial teams 
• You have knowledge of financial systems
• You have previous experience of managing / co-ordinating external payroll providers.
• You have experience in evaluating, coordinating and communicating local financial business information.
• You are a strong Excel user
• You are fluent in Swedish and English
• It’s a merit if you have a track record of driving continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, reporting quality and FP&A processes
• It’s a merit if you have previous experience from working in a manufacturing environment
• It’s a merit if you have experience working with M3
• It’s a merit if you have experience in dashboard creation, data visualization and automated reporting.
