Interim Project Manager
Interim Search AB has been commissioned to find an interim Project Manager for a high-growth industrial group currently undergoing an extensive strategic transformation.
The Project Manager is a Group resource – based at the head office in Sweden and expected to be as comfortable on a workshop floor as in a management meeting.
The role drives two types of projects side by side: business development projects and operational and site projects.
You report to COO.
Main tasks:
- Serve as the Group’s senior project manager, translating strategic decisions into operational reality across all subsidiaries and sites
- Lead business development projects – new markets, new revenue streams and initiatives that strengthen the group’s circular business model
- Lead operational and site projects – establishing, relocating and improving dismantling sites, workshops and warehouses, and improving the flow of goods and work through them
- Own assigned projects end to end – from mandate and business case through planning, execution, handover and follow-up
- Hold budget responsibility for assigned projects: build the business case, follow up costs against plan and report deviations early
- Drive improvements in process flows, capacity and working methods, and secure adoption after go-live
- Establish and maintain a practical project model – governance, templates, reporting and follow-up – for use across the whole group
- Define scope, deliverables, timeline and resource needs together with the COO and affected site or country management
- Lead cross-functional project teams without line authority, and take responsibility for project members’ assignments and delivery within the project
- Report project status to the COO and group management in a clear, consistent format
To be relevant for the role:
- You have +7 years’ experience as a project manager, running complex projects independently
- You are both operational and strategic
- You have project management certification (IPMA, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
- You are comfortable managing multiple parallel projects and subsidiaries simultaneously in a fast-moving, acquisitive group environment
- You have a background from automotive / aftermarket (spare parts, workshops, vehicle dismantling, aftermarket distribution). You can also have a background from industrial / manufacturing environments (production, lean, operational excellence)
- You have documented experience of budget responsibility and leading project teams in a matrix organisation
- You are business fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written as the Group operates across the Nordic countries as well as Germany, France, Portugal and UK.
- You have a driving licence B – required for site visits
- It’s a merit if you have experience from a multi-site or group environment
- It’s a merit if you have additional language skills
