2020-01-31

On Thursday, January 30, the 2019 Change Leaders of the Year were announced in three categories. The winners included a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur, a humble stock market CEO and a duo who broke new ground in art circles.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Change Leader of the Year award was organized. The jury considers the candidates' impact internally on the company, externally on society, and the implementation of change through exemplary leadership. This year, the award went to three people who individually proved to have earned the prestigious title of Change Leader of the Year 2019: Stina Ehrensvärd, Magnus Groth and brothers Per and Jan Broman.

Nearly 90 business professionals gathered at Google's Sweden office to celebrate change management and the three winners. The evening was led by jury chairman Charlotte Strömberg who, together with Elise Andström (Partner, Boyden Executive Search), Fredrik Lind (Partner, BCG), Henrik Östberg (Partner, Interim Search), Jonas Hernlund (Head of Investors & Scaleup, Google) and Ulrika Francke (advisor and board member), had decided the winners after a solid jury work during the fall.

In the medium-sized company category, attention was drawn to Stina Ehrensvärd, CEO and founder of Yubico. A true entrepreneur whose business has innovated IT security for renowned companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon and Google.

Magnus Groth, CEO of Essity received the award in the Large Companies category. He was praised for having significantly developed the company's product portfolio, thereby strengthening competitiveness and delivering value to both shareholders and customers.

The award in this year's Social Benefit category was received by the brothers behind Fotografiska, Jan and Per Broman. The jury's motivation was that they broke new ground in traditional circles, making the art of photography accessible to everyone.

The Change Leader of the Year award was established in 2015 and is awarded in three categories: medium-sized companies, large companies and a variable award, which this year was Community Benefit. The award is sponsored by Boston Consulting Group, Boyden Executive Search, Google Sweden and Interim Search. Previous winners include leaders such as Kai Wärn, CEO of Husqvarna Group and Helena Stjernholm, CEO of Industrivärden. For more information, visit www.aretsforandringsledare.se.
