Interim Sourcing & Purchasing Manager

Interim Search has been commissioned to appoint a Sourcing & Purchasing manager for an international retail company based in Stockholm.

In the role of Sourcing & Purchasing Manager, you are part of the management team and report to the CFO. You will work closely with the group's central logistics department and with contacts in Sweden, Europe and the Far East.“

Main duties:

  • Responsible for creating a functioning flow and a functioning “sourcing”, setting goals - follow-up with suppliers and with buyers, etc.
  • Find suppliers for purchase item needs (down to SKU level). The company works with partners in the Far East (hub for supplier base) and directly with suppliers in Sweden and Europe.
  • Requirements for partners and suppliers, what is required to be a supplier to the company.
  • Identify and evaluate current partners/agents and suppliers.
  • Purchase Order Coordinator/Hub - Requirement gathering (time and quality), ensuring the establishment of purchase orders from a requirement perspective (product from range, supplier from sourcing).
  • Procurement - evaluation of suppliers (directly or as a requester through an agent), procurement of needs taking into account financial constraints (price/margin/payment terms).
  • Order management - Certification and approval of purchase orders for production (completeness and conditions, within given financial limits/budget).
  • Delivery monitoring - Ensure delivery according to order placement, coordination to logistics and collection. Flag any delays to enable logistics to book freight.
  • Contract monitoring - Reminding suppliers of contractual commitments, taking responsibility for any penalties and other measures to ensure quality in product and time.

To be eligible for the role, you have:

  • University degree in logistics, engineering or economics.
  • Several years of documented experience in Sourcing in the Far East and in Europe with broad experience in supplier processing and negotiation, sales and qualified work in purchasing
  • Strategic with ability to switch between detail and helicopter view
  • Highly skilled in analysis, monitoring and reporting
  • Communicative, clear and unpretentious
  • Experience in a competitive company undergoing change and/or growth with a bulky product range
  • Business and results-driven, unpretentious and fearless, moving quickly from words to action to increase sales and drive growth
  • Used to taking great responsibility for the quality of their own work. Structured, meticulous, quick learner and used to handling many different tasks at the same time.
  • Seeing solutions and not getting stuck in problems
  • Fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English

 

The assignment is initially for at least 6 months. We present candidates to the customer on an ongoing basis and the last day for registration of interest is March 3.
