Interim Operations Manager

Interim Search is currently seeking an Operations Manager for an established service company with specialized expertise in hygiene and quality services for the food industry. As Operations Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the company’s operations at a major client in the Swedish food industry. You will lead through others and ensure operations characterized by quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.

Main duties:

  • With full budget and P&L responsibility, you will lead and develop the business through four direct reports.
  • Ensure efficient and high-quality operations with a focus on food safety, delivery reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead quality and improvement initiatives and ensure compliance during audits and external reviews.
  • Be responsible for staff, the work environment, and the organization's performance.
  • Participate in budget and resource planning and monitor the organization's performance.
  • Be a reliable and trustworthy partner in our dialogue with customers.
  • Work in an organization that operates 364 days a year, which at times places high demands on availability, flexibility, and hands-on leadership.

To be eligible for the role:

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a senior operations role in the manufacturing industry, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven experience in leading through other leaders and delivering results through clear leadership.
  • Experience with change and improvement initiatives in organizations with high standards for quality and delivery.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively in multicultural organizations.
  • Experience with IFS is a strong asset, and experience with Power BI is a plus.
  • Operational experience in the food industry is highly valued.
  • You speak English fluently, as the organization is multicultural.

Personal characteristics:

We’re looking for someone who is a confident and clear leader with the ability to create structure, build trust, and make decisions. You communicate directly and transparently, are comfortable handling difficult conversations, and are not afraid to set clear expectations when the situation calls for it. At the same time, you are down-to-earth, professional, and have a genuine commitment to developing both people and the business.

About the process

This is a full-time position (100 %) starting after the summer (early August). The role is based in the field and requires a high level of on-site presence and flexibility, as operations run seven days a week and are entirely driven by the client’s needs. The assignment will initially last approximately 14 months. The application deadline is June 17, and interviews with the client will take place shortly thereafter.
