Interim ERP Project Manager

We are currently seeking a senior IT leader for a long-term interim assignment at an international group undergoing rapid digital transformation. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between IT and the business, with strategic and operational responsibility for driving, optimizing, and future-proofing the organization’s core business systems. The assignment has a particular focus on managing the existing platform, overseeing vendor management, and preparing for and structuring upcoming carve-outs of the system environment.

 

Main duties:

  • Management and Carve-out Roadmap: Be responsible for the lifecycle management of business-critical systems (ERP/ECC) and develop and maintain a clear roadmap for future carve-outs from the existing platform.

  • Supplier and Contract Management: Continuously review contracts and suppliers associated with the business system to ensure flexibility in the event of a downsizing, and carry out this work in close collaboration with internal application owners.

  • Stakeholder Management: Lead regular meetings with key stakeholders in the organization to ensure that ECC, e-commerce, BI, and CRM operate securely and reliably, and ensure that critical projects and change requests move forward despite limited resources.

  • Budgeting, Controlling, and Cost Optimization: Work closely with the controller function on invoicing, monitoring, and forecasting for 2026, and develop a detailed plan and finalize the budget for 2027. Identify and implement cost-saving measures, including the phasing out of older BI/BW systems and the transfer of support responsibilities to external partners in 2027.

  • Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and coordinate the IT teams, promote a customer-focused culture, and serve as an advisory partner to business stakeholders to solve problems using technology.

 

To be eligible for the role:

  • Experience: You have several years of solid experience as a senior IT leader, IT manager, ERP manager, or in a similar role, with documented experience in full-lifecycle management of business systems.

  • Understanding of the system: You have a deep understanding of large enterprise systems (such as SAP ECC, Oracle, or similar) as well as cloud platforms, CRM, BI, and integrations.

  • Change & Transition: You have documented experience with complex IT environments, vendor management, contract negotiations, and processes related to system integrations, modernization, or carve-outs.

  • Financial Management: You have solid experience with budget management, controlling, and financial monitoring in IT projects.

  • Communication and Leadership: You have strong business acumen, confident leadership skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills to successfully manage the dialogue between the technical team, management, and external partners.

 

About the process

This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, no later than August. The assignment will initially last approximately 18 months. Candidate presentations will take place on July 1, and interviews with the client will be held the following day.
