“It's tempting to help out in the heat of the moment”

Frida Skjutare is the latest addition to Interim Search. She joined the regional office in Gävle in October, but will be working with appointments across Sweden in the role of Manager/Recruitment Consultant. Frida has worked with recruitment for most of her career, but has also been an HR manager with significant insights into driving change from a management perspective. Most recently, she herself has been seconded as an interim HR consultant via Interim Search. We spoke to Frida about her first time on the job.

Great to have you on our journey, Frida! Why did you come to Interim Search?
It feels so incredibly fun! Thanks to my previous work with Michael Schilling and Christian Richtnér, I have followed the growth journey closely and, over time, seen the success factors that are well anchored in the company. What attracted me, in addition to working with former colleagues, was a strong desire to help out in real life, be on my toes and collaborate with forward-thinking employees. I believe in our product enormously and am impressed by the machinery in the organization, which gives me the best conditions to help customers with urgent needs.

You will mainly be based in Gävle, but will place interim consultants all over Sweden. How have you followed the establishment in Gävle in advance?
Through positive stories from Michael and Christian and everything interesting that Interim Search sends out. Can highly recommend the newsletter that comes every month! (subscribe here)

What has your journey been like so far? What did you do before?
My profile is a hybrid of sales and HR. After studying human resources, I was headhunted for a position as a recruitment consultant, where I placed managers and specialists for our clients. After that, I helped establish a local recruitment company. I also have experience as an HR manager, where I built up an HR function from the ground up, worked closely with the management team and drove change. My most recent assignment was as an interim HR consultant with Interim Search.

You really have the privilege to see the organization from several angles, how was your candidate experience as an interim consultant via Interim Search?
Had it not been for this offer, I would have remained as interim consultant. It is so incredibly exciting and educational to meet different companies with needs and work based on a clear task. It will be so rewarding to meet all these different consultants we appoint. The contact with Interim Search and the client was simple, safe and forward-looking throughout.

What are you most looking forward to now that you will be working in interim recruitment instead?
Being the one responsible for solving the customer's business-critical needs. It suits me as a person, I am motivated by working proactively and being on my toes to be able to deliver in real time.

What has your first time at the company been like?
I have received a warm welcome from everyone. The feeling is not that I am new to the job but immediately part of the community, which says a lot about the corporate culture they have managed to build. When it comes to systems and processes, the image of Interim Search as a professional and modern company has been reinforced. We employees have good conditions to succeed thanks to proven routines and a tailor-made onboarding.

Why do you think business leaders should have a dedicated interim supplier in their toolbox?
All business leaders today benefit from a dedicated interim provider. Not only to solve very urgent cases. It also takes time to fill a permanent recruitment, leading to a business-critical gap when it comes to a key role. Moreover, now that we are in the candidate's market, the lead time can be further extended. In these business-critical situations, when companies need to bring someone on board in a very short time, our system of over 10,000 interim consultants difficult to beat.
