After graduating with a degree in economics, Vera started working at an accounting firm, which she says was a good place to learn about different companies and gain experience. It also gave her access to a large network of contacts, which she continues to build and maintain today. Vera has retrained from accountant to interim consultant in accounting and is still driven by the desire for varied work. She recently completed a twelve-month assignment where she filled the role of accounting manager during a period of sick leave. Vera came in with little preparation time and exceeded the client's expectations with her analytical skills and system knowledge. Her responsibilities included day-to-day accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as reviewing processes, procedures, and regulations.
