Interim Production Manager
Interim Search has been entrusted with appointing an interim Production Manager for an established company in the process industry. As Production Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the Swedish production chain and associated warehouses. You will lead the operations through your direct reports and focus on stabilizing, structuring, and ensuring a reliable organization to guarantee high quality and efficiency.
Main duties:
- Lead and develop the business through three production and warehouse managers who report directly to you and have ultimate operational responsibility for production, budgeting, packing, and inventory.
- Ensure machine operation and operational reliability by minimizing downtime and effectively managing rapid changes in production planning.
- Work closely with the maintenance manager to actively organize and structure maintenance work with the goal of creating a more reliable fleet of machinery and integrating the department into production.
- Work with the quality manager to implement quality assurance and proactive process improvements to stabilize workflows and reduce the scrap rate.
- Be responsible for personnel, the work environment, and capacity planning, including developing work schedules for shift work.
- Maintain an ongoing and effective labor-management dialogue.
- Work closely with purchasing and logistics to manage the supply chain flow.
- You are a member of the Swedish management team.
- Work in an operation that runs around the clock (24/7), which places exceptionally high demands on flexibility, availability, and decisive leadership during emergencies.
To be eligible for the role:
- At least 7–9 years of experience as a production manager or in a comparable senior operations management role.
- Extensive experience in the process industry and machinery-intensive environments is an absolute requirement.
- High level of technical expertise with practical experience in troubleshooting, complex machine flows, and rotor failure analysis.
- Documented experience leading through other leaders and creating structure in environments that are at times unstructured or urgent.
- Proven experience in stabilizing, structuring, and developing operations undergoing change or in operationally challenging environments.
- Experience with round-the-clock operations (24/7) and a strong ability to work shifts and adapt quickly to changes.
- Fluency in spoken and written Swedish is an absolute requirement, as it is the language used on the site.
- Academic or post-secondary education in engineering, an understanding of Lean/Six Sigma, and proximity to the site are considered a plus.
- Proficiency in business systems; experience with Jeeves and the QlickView reporting tool is a strong asset.

About the process
