For a Swedish e-commerce company we are looking for a "Head of Category Sales" with direct staff responsibility of about 10-12 people. The company has a turnover of approximately 3.2 billion and is growing rapidly.
Main duties:
- Responsible for a department of about 10-12 people.
- Secure the company's commercial offer as a link between the purchasing and sales channels.
- Ensures the company's product range strategy - defines the categories in which we should be present and the breadth and depth of each category.
- Responsible for deciding the main orientations per category/sub-category and requirements for the purchasing department so that this is negotiated and made available to the company.
- Together with the sales channels, prepares the sales plan for the year and sets it by category, both top down and bottom up.
- Ensures that the sales plan includes both regular and promotional sales per channel.
- Sets together with the Marketing function a campaign plan - Marketing is responsible for the creative content and direction and Category Sales ensures that the offer matches the campaign theme. This is done both for larger campaigns with longer sales/order cycles and for shorter campaigns / daily campaigns etc. via the E-Com. channel.
- Negotiates campaign offers that match the overall campaign plan.
- Have ongoing dialog with suppliers about news launches and campaign plans.
- Have an ear to the “ground” in terms of international trends and competitor activities and what is happening among our customers/competitors.
- Responsible for gross profit - COGS is supplied by the purchasing department, but it continuously demands correct purchase prices based on margin targets per category and price indices.
- Sets the company's pricing strategy and monitors that the pricing department executes according to plan.
- Sets the company's PL strategy.
To be eligible for the assignment, you must:
- Sales drivers.
- Energetic and “Coaching” leadership style.
- Analytical and planning.
- KPIs, - Total sales and sales by category, Promotion share, PL share, Gross profit, Price index - deviation from target, e-NPS.
