Interim Head of Accounting
Interim Search has been entrusted with the task of appointing an Interim Head of Accounting for an international company headquartered in Stockholm.
In this role, you will lead and develop the company’s Accounting function, with responsibility for the accounting of several companies and markets across Europe. You will lead a team of approximately 15 employees and play a central role in developing the team’s work methods, accountability, and processes. The role reports directly to the CFO.
Main duties:
- Lead, coach, and develop the Accounting team of approximately 15 employees, and establish clear areas of responsibility and mandates within the organization.
- Be responsible for the financial reporting of several companies and markets within the European operations.
- Ensure high quality and efficiency in accounting processes, as well as compliance with IFRS and relevant regulations.
- Take ownership of and further develop key accounting processes, including those related to accounts receivable and accounts payable, and ensure efficient and scalable workflows.
- Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for streamlining, standardization, and clearer process ownership.
- Help the team develop a more independent approach to work through delegation, coaching, and clear expectations.
- Provide operational and strategic support in accounting matters and serve as a requirements-setting and support function for the business and its subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with other Finance functions and international subsidiaries within a shared system and process environment.
To be eligible for the role:
- Do you have senior-level experience as a Head of Accounting, Accounting Manager, or in a similar role with responsibility for a large accounting function?.
- Do you have documented experience in managing staff and in leading, coaching, and developing teams, preferably with 15 or more employees?.
- Do you have strong accounting skills and solid experience with IFRS?.
- Do you have experience in managing and developing accounting processes, as well as driving efficiency, standardization, and continuous improvement?.
- Do you have the ability to take a hands-on approach and stay closely involved in operations while also delegating, creating structure, and fostering the organization’s independence?.
- Experience in an international and/or multi-entity environment is a strong asset.
- An understanding of consolidated financial statements and consolidation is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable large-scale ERP system is a plus.
- Do you have a confident, supportive, and clear leadership style, with the ability to develop an ambitious finance team?
About the process
The assignment is expected to last 12 months, starting in October on a full-time basis. We will present candidates on August 20, and client interviews will take place on an ongoing basis thereafter.
