Interim Group General Counsel
Interim Search is looking for an operational, crisis management and transformation-oriented in-house counsel for a global, market-leading, industrial group undergoing extensive transformation. The company has recently undergone a change of ownership to a lender-led structure and is now in a critical phase to stabilize the business. This is an assignment for a very senior and crisis management lawyer who navigates complex financial restructurings with the goal of safeguarding both business value and the organization's employees.
The role reports to the CFO, is part of the Group Management Team and works closely with the Group CEO and Board. You will work independently and operationally without your own team, supported by leading external law firms.
Main duties:
- Operationally drive and execute the legal parts of the company's transformation program with a focus on reconstruction and insolvency issues in Sweden.
- Act as a strategic anchor on issues related to refinancing and debt structure, including covenant management and creditor dialogues.
- Leading legal workstreams in the company turnaround and corporate transformation to ensure a long-term sustainable capital structure.
- Orchestrate international legal issues by managing and coordinating external lawyers abroad during local restructurings.
- Ensure a safe process for the organization's employees, navigating any legal proceedings in district court with a keen sense of the importance of staff to the future value of the company.
To be eligible for the role:
- Very senior in-house lawyer with the weight and solid experience required to act as a “trusted advisor” in an international group management.
- Proven experience in restructuring and insolvency in Sweden where you have been in the “trenches” before and know the craft in detail.
- You have proven experience in running complex corporate transformation and refinancing processes.
- You are a strong hands-on lawyer who thrives on operationally driving processes from start to finish and is not afraid to roll up your sleeves in an environment without internal legal staff.
- You are highly stress-resistant and fast-paced. You navigate with ease in uncertain environments with short decision paths and high stakeholder pressure.
- You have a proven track record in international group structures and experience in sourcing and managing external legal advisors globally.
- Experience from private equity companies is considered an advantage but is not a requirement.
- An industrial background is an advantage but not a requirement.
About the process
The assignment is full-time starting as soon as possible and is expected to last 9 months. The assignment requires presence at the head office in Skåne, but the work can be done with flexibility for a hybrid solution. We present candidates to the customer on April 10 and customer interviews take place on April 13.
