We at Interim Search received a call from an entrepreneur who, five years ago, realized his dream of starting his own business. The company sells consumer goods through department stores and is the agent for a number of well-known brands. Today, they have a turnover of SEK 10 million and are based in central Stockholm. They are now in need of a skilled accountant who can help them with their financial management.
The CEO describes himself as someone who is good at finding new commercial products, attracting new retailers, and has a good sense of trends. There is an accountant who handles day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and other company administration. The company uses Fortknox as its financial system.
The company needs someone to help them get a better handle on corporate governance. They don't know which products have which margins, how many products are sold under each item number, how to work efficiently with inventory, what kind of system support they need, and more. In other words, they need a skilled economist to discuss this with. It is desirable that you have worked with fast-moving consumer goods before and have experience as a controller, finance manager, or equivalent.
You decide the scope and start date of the assignment. We estimate that it will involve 10-20 hours of consulting, and there will be no compensation for either you or us. There is no prior relationship between Interim Search and the company in question.
