Interim Search has been commissioned to appoint an interim Head of Accounting for a rapidly growing international company with operations in six countries.
As an Interim Head of Accounting, you will become a leading member of the Finance team and an integral part of a multinational organization where you will support and develop the accounting function. You will take ownership of further developing the finance department as well as setting up and developing processes in a rapidly growing company. You will be based in Stockholm and report to the Finance Director, manage the accounting team, and work closely with the financial and business control functions. You will collaborate with colleagues in foreign offices as well as with our external accounting firms abroad. You will mostly work with our Swedish parent company, but will also handle tasks related to foreign subsidiaries.
Primarily, you will:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department (AP, AR, Bank, Expenses, Fixed Assets)
- Manage and support the internal accounting team of 4 employees
- Manage dialogue with external accounting firms in DK, FI, NL, BE (& maybe soon DE!)
- Monitor AR Aging Balances and communicate status with Account Managers
- Monitoring and analyzing accounting data
- Manage month-end closing procedures and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Monitor cash balances
- Assist the Business Controlling team with ad hoc questions and analysis
Who are we seeking?
- You have at least 4 years of experience as an accountant and enjoy a prestige-free, dynamic environment with various areas of contact.
- You have a passion for numbers, quality, and a strong service level.
- Moreover, you are a diligent leader and self-acting person who values structure and teamwork.
We are looking for a person who has:
- Relevant university degree in economics or finance, or equivalent
- Experience from the Big 4, audit or accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, and accounts reconciliation, is meritorious.
- Good skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in leading and developing projects and staff
- Experience of working in an international group is meritorious.
- Specific Skills: High level of energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced business. Self-starter and solution-driven.
About the process
The assignment is expected to start no later than the beginning of April and last for at least nine months.
