Immediately after graduating, Hannes started his own company and began working as an IT consultant, developing systems and implementing new business systems for various companies, primarily in the transport industry. His cutting-edge expertise led to him being recruited by a large security company as IT manager in the early 2000s. He worked there until 2009, when he was recruited by a media group that needed a strategic IT manager who could find economies of scale within its expanding operations.
