Interim Search has been entrusted with the appointment of an Interim Indirect Purchasing Manager for a company in the defense industry. The company develops, delivers and maintains systems for vehicles, artillery, naval guns, training and simulation as well as electric hybrid systems for civilian vehicles to customers worldwide. The organization has a turnover of approximately SEK 5 billion and employs nearly 800 people locally.
About the assignment:
The Indirect Purchasing department is part of the Purchasing department which has a total of 7 units. The Purchasing Department is part of the Supply Chain. The Indirect Purchasing Manager reports to the Head of Procurement. The department consists of 15 employees. Mainly the work needs to be done in the office, but some travel may be required within Sweden, there is also the possibility of flexible solutions to be able to work some remotely.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead the team in this ramp-up phase, to continue recruiting, to support the buyers in major procurements and to participate in escalations when needed.
- Work internally to take care of the ”customer” perspective.
- Responsible for internal and external interfaces as the business ”serves” many internal and external customers.
- As many changes are happening internally and even inexperienced in purchasing, a lot of support is needed for the team to grow in their responsibilities.
- As an Indirect Purchasing Manager, you need to have a coaching leadership to make your employees grow.
- Create processes that improve efficiency and collect relevant statistics and technical information.
- Confidently manage complexity and apply relevant theoretical models in their work.
To be eligible for the role:
- A college or university degree is required.
- The candidate needs to have a good experience in Indirect Purchasing and as a manager.
- Problem solving skills, identifying and using relevant information and analyzing problems from multiple perspectives.
- Uses data and statistics in problem solving and decision making and sees the usefulness of numerical data and analysis.
- Uses schedules and structures so that tasks will be performed on time.
- Producing innovative approaches and ideas.
- Strategically oriented and focuses on the big picture and has a strategic view of the organization.

About the process:
The assignment is expected to last approximately 6 months with an estimated start in October at 100 % in scope.
The work will primarily be carried out on site at the customer's premises, but there is scope for flexible solutions (remote/commuting).
We will present candidates on Thursday, October 3 and interviews at the client company will be held the following days.
