Interim Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Interim Search has been commissioned to appoint an interim Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a fast growing company based in Gothenburg. The role is part of the management team and you report to the CEO.
Main duties:
- Drive delivery accuracy: Ensure the team meets deadlines by prioritizing correctly and challenging time estimates in a constructive way.
- Operational leadership: Manage and coach a relatively junior but high performing team of mainly software developers.
- Strategic decision-making: sitting on the company's management team and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the organization.
- Quality assurance of roadmap: Ensure delivery of 1-2 main products.
- Bridge between engineering and production: Maintain contact and interaction with the company's production facility.
To be eligible for the role:
- Solid software background: You have a deep understanding of modern software development, preferably with experience in Rust, C and/or Python, and understand the complexities of embedded systems.
- Scale-up/Product Launch Experience: You have previously led technical teams through intense final phases of product development where time-to-market is critical.
- Technical Requirements Manager: You have the ability to assess the reasonableness of technical estimates - you know when a task should take a week rather than a month and can push the team just enough to get there.
- Communicative leader: You are used to managing junior talent and can translate technical challenges into business priorities for the rest of the management team.
- Security in complex environments: Experience working with sectors with high security and reliability requirements, such as defense or government, is highly advantageous.
