Anna-Karin got off to a strong start in her career when, after just five years in finance, she was put in charge of a finance department with seven employees and responsibility for three subsidiaries. The business grew rapidly through acquisitions, and the challenges of integration meant that—in addition to leading her team, overseeing consolidated financial statements, participating in executive committee meetings, and performing other standard CFO duties—she spent a great deal of time procuring and implementing systems. After seven years, she was recruited from outside the company to join a construction group, where she was responsible for consolidated financial reporting.
