We value starting your career at an auditing firm, as this provides early insight into many businesses and often a general in-depth understanding of the finance function. This is the case with Ulrik, who spent the early part of his career focusing on auditing medium-sized companies. Thanks to his commercial approach, he was then offered the position of CFO for Northern Europe at a well-known investment company, where he spent 15 years alternating between working with new acquisitions and working operationally in the portfolio companies as CFO. After many years of intensive travel, he chose to become more stationary and therefore took a position as CFO at a PE-owned steel company. He was then persuaded to take on a similar role for an international electronics manufacturing company, this time listed abroad. A large furniture manufacturer needed help to reverse a strong negative financial trend, so he took on the challenge as the group's CFO and managed to exceed expectations. When he finished at that company, he worked at a well-known electronics manufacturing company and then as CFO for another turnaround assignment, which he recently completed successfully.

Ulrik considers himself to have made his career and has nothing more to prove to himself or others. He loves to work and is motivated by being in a fast-paced environment where he can have a strong positive impact on the organization.
