Just a few years after graduating, Pål became deputy CEO of a small finance company, a role that in practice involved responsibility for lending and syndication of loans to companies. He was then recruited externally to a local bank with the task of winding down their loan portfolio. Once this had been successfully completed, he was appointed sales manager and then became operations manager at a brokerage firm with responsibility for the back office, IT, and credit department. As the company grew, his role developed into that of a pure credit manager with responsibility for four staff members. Over the next five years, his work focused largely on securities credits and syndicated loans. In his most recent position, he was credit manager for a well-known, successful, and newly established bank with responsibility for eight employees. He has now made an active choice to start working as an interim consultant in order to better manage his time.
Pål is a very strong interim candidate for companies that want to streamline their credit granting processes and reduce their risk. He prefers to work on complex assignments, is accustomed to handling difficult personnel issues, and is particularly relevant for companies experiencing growing pains.
