CEO for a fast-growing e-commerce company in the home, leisure, construction, and gardening sectors. Interim Search has been tasked with appointing an operational and purchasing-strong CEO with a strong focus on change, structure, and profitability.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for profitable growth by developing purchasing, product range strategy, and supply chain from product idea to delivery.
- Optimize gross margins, inventory turnover, and capital tied up through active supplier management and international purchasing, with a particular focus on Asia.
- Ensure operational excellence in logistics flows, inventory management, and planning, including handling long lead times (up to 12 months).
- Develop and strengthen a younger organization through clear and present leadership, building scalable processes, structure, and a high-performance culture.
- Drive data-driven decision-making in purchasing, marketing, and sales with a clear focus on margin control and customer value.
- Actively develop the product range to ensure competitiveness, customer value, and high conversion rates.
- Report to owners/board and create clarity in goals, priorities, and results.
To be eligible for the assignment:
- You have documented experience as a CEO, COO, or business area manager in e-commerce and/or retail.
- Entrepreneurial and driven to achieve results in a fast-growing organization.
- You have strong expertise in international purchasing, negotiation, and supplier management, with extensive experience in Asia.
- You have worked with long lead times (12 months) and can balance capital commitment, availability, and profitability.
- You have a genuine interest in the product and a proven broad understanding of e-commerce for consumers, preferably in the home, leisure, construction, or gardening sectors.
- You have solid experience in supply chain, inventory management, and logistics optimization.
- You are a confident change leader who has developed young teams to become self-sufficient, responsible, and high-performing.
- You are analytical and business-driven, with a strong ability to understand and manage the relationships between purchasing, price, margin, and customer value.
- Structured, clear, and secure, but quick in decision-making and action.
Meritorious:
- Academic education in economics, engineering, logistics, or equivalent.
- Experience from entrepreneur-driven or owner-managed companies.
- Experience in turnaround, transformation, and building processes and structures.
About the process:
The assignment is expected to last for 12 months, starting immediately and based in Stockholm. For the right candidate, there is the possibility of a long-term role after the interim period.
