Interim Search has been commissioned to find a Plant Manager for a customer based in the Stavanger Area, Norway. The plant is part of a larger Group with approximately 8,000 employees and more than 100 manufacturing facilities globally.
Responsibilities:
The Plant Manager is responsible for the plant, which has approximately 30 employees.
The manager participates in the strategic direction of the industrial operation and is directly responsible for production, maintenance of production equipment, buildings, quality & process, and continuous improvement of the plant. Of particular note is the responsibility for the safety and health of the employees. The functions of local purchasing and loading are also part of the area of responsibility.
Success criteria for the role:
- To establish and stabilize local KPIs, to understand the economic outcome from the KPIs
- To improve and stabilize the production process and to deliver the required quantities in the defined quality at the planned costs
- Further implementation of a continuous improvement process to optimize costs
- Improve the local culture/mentality when it comes to problem solving
- Build trust and engagement within the local team; improve leadership and delegation of responsibility
- Establish business thinking, deployed in the local organization
- Having built strong relationships internally with stakeholders and externally with government and local neighbors
To be eligible for the role:
- Several years of industrial management experience
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, process engineering, maintenance, and SHEQ
- Experience from working in Norway and an international environment, preferably in a matrix organization
- Experience in change processes and change management
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of SAP, ERP systems
- Very good in Norwegian and English
- Degree in engineering preferred: mechanical, marine, chemical, or similar relevant background
About the process:
The assignment starts as soon as possible and is expected to last for 12 months. The assignment requires physical presence at the plant 3 days per week.
